Welcome to SAROMA Its taken many moons for this to finally happen...but here at last is my lifetimes work, on line, on a beautiful web site, designed and created by Harlee. {note from Harlee " I would like to thank all the artists and their work that I have used, please contact me if I have upset any copywright laws"} To find this place to bring together a collection which has been stuffed on my shelf for the past 14 years is very exciting, and to see the images next to my words, very powerful. 13 came into existence whilst living in Edinburgh, and working in a mind, body spirit shop in the early 90's. I had access to so much alternative and spiritual information that I found a voice within my poetry to explore what it meant to be aware of The Goddess, and how she is still with us if we take a moment and have a look. I am always surprised when I re read this collection - it seems to have been written before its time. My second collection is more real, in that it deals with motherhood, relationship breakdown, homelessness and a sense of identity to where you belong. The title "Escape From Mars" is linked to the Men are From Mars self help book popular in the late 90's. Its a reflection of my journey, once again a shocking and surprising one. My work here is more approachable - some of these have been published!! - I like a poem to hit you as soon as you read it - I'm not really into all this flouncy stuff, which relates to other work and has to be re read many times before you are at one with it. The remainder of poems do not fit any particular theme just now, and are reflections of personal insight and experience that it has been necessary to put into words for me to deal with it. Yes I use my poetry as personal therapy - where else can I ex-press myself totally? Please browse through these poems and I truly hope that one or even two may just shift your awareness somewhere unusual. .............................................................
